Si-Mochi MIS

si-Mochi MIS is for minimally invasive surgery applications. si-Mochi is prepacked into a range of suitable sized syringes. si-Mochi MIS uses a dual pusher system to ensure the product can be used one handed and that all product is dispensed properly.

si-Mochi is indicated as a bone void filler for voids or gaps that are non intrinsic to the stability of the bony structure.

Suitable for minimally invasive surgery requirements,
(such as keyhole surgery).
Available in sizes 5/10cc.
1-2mm size granules.
FDA cleared.

si-Mochi is a new bioactive synthetic bone graft product by Biostone. Established in UK since 2017, Biostone aim to utilise a proprietary technology to create a new line of synthetic bone graft products to improve the clinical outcome and life quality for the patient.

What is si-Mochi?

si-Mochi is a next generation bioactive synthetic bone graft product. It does not contain any animal biological material.
si-Mochi was created after years of academic and clinical research based on an ignored, but obvious nature of bone remodelling mechanisms.

Its unique porous structures enables rapid osteocytes formation within the ceramic body to integrate with the host bone remodelling process. Therefore, this provides an innovative and optimal solution for surgical bone graft procedures.

Si-Mochi Composition

si-Mochi contains multi porous structured bi-phase Calcium Phosphate ceramic granules. These are suspended in an aqueous polymer carrier gel, creating a pre-mixed putty.

The chemical composition of the granules is trace silica induced bi-phase Calcium Phosphate ceramic containing:

80% hydroxylapatite Ca5(PO4)3(OH)
20% ฮฒ-tricalcium phosphate Ca3(PO4)2
(similar levels to those identified in naturally-growing bone).

Si-Mochi Structure

si-Mochi contains macropores, midipores and microspaces, strategically arranged to form a unique porous structure. The pores are interconnected with 80% porosity. The structure will trap osteoblasts and transform into osteocytes within the ceramic body โ€“ achieving high quality osteointegration down to a cellular level.

Si-Mochi Key Benefits

Ready to use
Provided in ready to use putty form, there is no need for pre-mixing. Apply to surgical area straight from the syringe or into hands for handling.

Mouldable
In an operation theatre environment, the putty is easy to mould without sticking to gloves or instruments. At body temperature, the putty viscosity rises, preventing migration at surgical site.
*Indications may vary in different territories.

Versatile
si-Mochi is provided in a range of applicators and sizes to suit various surgical requirements.

How si-Mochi MIS works

To use si-Mochi MIS, remove the cartridge caps and insert the short pusher.
When this has reached its maximum length, remove and use the long pusher to fully dispense the product.
